Great game to mod, gets repetitive.
The game is very fun! There are mods all over the Internet to make this game Sooo much better! It works on Windows 7 with no problems.It requires minimal system requirements and can be played on basics computers as well as gaming computers when turned to max detail.The only issue is that after getting good at the game, it can get a bit repetitive. Still, I play all the time and time goes flying by.A solid 4 1/2 stars

Repetitive but engaging
I enjoy Rescue 4, but it is really just an extension of Rescue 3 with better graphics. The missions are a bit repetitive but I like the free-play between the campaign missions. It was a great deal and shipped promptly, I recommend buying.

Great game
I have been playing the emergency series since the first one. Great game that has a different game play stand point (Dealing with emergency's) rather than your standard RTS Build and blow stuff up. It is from the view point of an incident commander and using your resources for the objective at hand. The game has its faults in sluggish controls and a lot of micro managing, but overall every version since the first one has been getting better. Since this is really the 4th emergency (just a different title for the American version) it has some great features not seen in the others. Like better graphics, smoother game play, and also somewhat better controls. Also the mod support is outstanding and not to promote 3rd party software the LA MOD is a must to complete the "American" feel of the game. Not only sets the units as LAFD but adds much more depth, unit selection and additional missions. Unit selection in the standard game is fantastic from simple ambulances to heavy rescues, swat...

loved the game
i really liked the game, even though i'm a hard core gamer. such as The Sims and what not.the game is very nice and enjoyable, and I find out some levels very challenging and might require a couple of attempts. Nonetheless, it's addictive and divers stratgies in gameplay.definitely recommend buying it.

This is an old game. It requires some tactical thinking and resource management, using fire, law enforcement and medical rescue units. That makes it interesting, but the game's fun factor is limited by several things. First, in almost every level your units must interact with elements of the environment, but the mouse must be positioned absolutely perfectly in order to do it. This takes some time, and time isn't always something you have a lot of in this game. Second, some of the elements your units must interact with are very difficult to see even if you know about where they are. Third, sometimes you will do everything you must do in order to complete the mission, and one of your units will get hung up on a terrain element and not be able to leave the scene. In order to beat a level, all of your units must eventually leave the scene, so this terrain hangup can make you have to completely restart the mission and do it again. Fun Game, Doesn't Like Vista or 7
This is one of my favorite strategy games. I was disaponted when I upgraded ot Vista and then to Windows 7, this game is playable, but barely on those systems. It might play fine via XP Mode on Windows 7 Pro, Enterprise, or Ultimate, but have not tried it.

Could of been a hit
It's sad to see a crop of games that come out that seem like a half hearted attempt to make money but arent polished enough to become a hit. Granted there are a few that just are plain awful. Interestingly enough this isnt an awful game but it does need some polish, updated graphics and new interface. Even if you arent a paramedic, police officer, or EMT, this game will tickle your playing-bone. Personally I like doctor, fire, police, and EMT type of games. Lately there hasnt been many in this genre. The Police Quest series sadly has long been retired, the Emergency series has stopped (one of them was really good then got bad), and the Emergency series hasnt been turning out good products. I happen to like Emergency: Fire Response.In this game you are introduced to an incomplete tutorial and clunky interface. Great Graphics..... poor AI and Gameplay.....
After the first 2 titles of the Emerrgency series, one would have thought that the game's developers would have done more than make the game prettier... but that's exactly what has happened. I reviewed Emergency2 with my chief complaint that the A.I. (Artificial Intelligence) needed major improvement.... well, sadly they have yet to address this issue.Firefighters will stand around and die rather than fight the fire, they wont advance on a fire... and worst of all, they STILL will crush themselves into a corner rather than go to the places directed... they will even head off in the opposite direction even though it's obvious that there is no path to the destination.... The civilians regurally cross police lines and walk directly into danger...very sad.Sorry Guys, but adding slow motion flying bodies and nicer graphics does not improve the game.... it only improves the look.You're charaters and vehicles are still have the I.Q. of a bag of...

Emergency 3 is a really fun challenge and it requires good thinking skills. The graphics are really good and it has realistic gameplay and scenarios and the price for such a game is great! Overall I think that this game is a real blast. The only problem is the game conrols are really hard to use and sometimes the game freezes up.Note: this game was purchased for, and reviewed by, my 12-year old boy and he is the one who plays it. The transaction was handled through Pay Pal without any problems and delivery was within an acceptable time.
